A Pillar of National Security: Korea’s Defense Industry
In celebration of the 1st K-Defense Day, we invite all citizens to reflect on the value and future of our defense sector.

방위산업의 날은 1592년 7월 8일,
임진왜란 중 사천해전에서 거북선이 역사상 처음으로 실전에 투입된 날을 기념하여 제정되었습니다.
K-Defense Day commemorates July 8, 1592,
when the turtle ship was deployed for the first time in battle
during the Battle of Sacheon in the Imjin War.
거북선의 첫 출전이 시작이었습니다.
오늘날, 대한민국 방위산업은 최고 수준의 기술력과 최첨단 무기체계로
세계를 향해 나아가고 있습니다.
It began with the first deployment of the turtle ship.
Today, Korea’s defense industry advances toward the world
with cutting-edge technologies and next-generation weapon systems.
